(12/18/14) Anne B. (Cherenzia) Vangieri, 91, of Pearl Street, Westerly, passed away on Thursday morning, December 18, 2014 at the Westerly Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late John “Fuzzle” Vangieri in 1991. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Brucker, wife of Gus, of Westerly and Susan Vangieri of Marlborough, MA, four grandchildren, Gus Brucker of Westerly, Amy Brucker of Westerly, Erin MacIntosh of Boston and Andrew Goldblatt of Georgia, four great-grandchildren, Lochlan MacIntosh, Ava, Macie and Gavin Goldblatt, two sisters, Mary Gentile of Westerly and Rose Magni of Westerly, three half-brothers, James, Joe and Tony Cherenzia, and her half-sister, Nancy Cherenzia. She was pre-deceased by four brothers, John, Natale, Vic and Angelo Cherenzia. Mrs. Vangieri was born in Westerly on October 29, 1923, the daughter of the late James and Peppina Cherenzia. Anne retired from the Westerly School Lunch Program after 23 years as a cook’s helper. She was a communicant at Immaculate Conception Church. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 am at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly. Burial will take place at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly. Calling hours will be at the funeral home before the service from 9:00-11:00 am.
