Beverly H (Hallas) Ramsden – Pawtucket, RI

(01/15/15) Pawtucket – Beverly H. (Hallas) Ramsden, 81, of Pawtucket died peacefully Monday, January 12, 2015 at Berkshire Place, Providence. She was the wife of the late Ernest Ramsden, Jr. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Elliot and Sarah (Pollard) Hallas, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life before moving to Denmark, ME for 20 years. Beverly graduated from Pawtucket West High School (now Shea) in 1951. In 1971, she graduated from the School of Banking at Williams College in VA. She also graduated from the National Trust School at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 1975, as a Certified Financial Analyst. She began her career at the Attleboro Trust Company (Now Durfee Attleboro Trust) in 1960 where she attained the Position of Vice President and Trust Officer. In 1981, she began working for the former Pawtucket Trust Company as a Vice President in the Trust Department where she retired. She was a member of the Quota Club of Attleboro, the Business and Professional Woman Club of Attleboro; a charter member of the Bristol County Estate Planning Council and served as a member of its Executive Committee and its Secretary for 4 years; a member of the North American Association of Trust-Chairman Woman; a member of the RI Banking Association Trust Division; and a member of the Massachusetts Bankers Association Trust Division. In 1988, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the School of Banking at Williams College. She was a guest lecturer at CCRI and adult education classes at various clubs and organizations in RI and MA. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of North Conway, NH. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen J. Regan of Pawtucket and Deborah St. Peter of Newcastle, VA; one son, James P. Ramsden of Hiram, ME; one sister, Judith Good of Nashua, NH; one brother, Melvin Hallas of Denmark, ME; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Glenn Hallas, Clinton Hallas and Brian Hallas. Her Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 19 at 11 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 2-5 P.M.
