John Mason – Lincoln, RI

(02/26/15) Lincoln – John Mason, 85, of Lincoln died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Fay A. (Weston) Mason. Born in Providence, a son of the late Gavin and Gladys H. (Seaton) Mason, he had lived in Lincoln for the past 50 years. Mr. Mason was a purchasing agent for E.R. Hutchinson, Inc., Pawtucket for 30 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of Mount Moriah Lodge #8, F. & A.M., Lincoln. He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran, serving in the military for 11 years and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He was the recipient of a Silver Star Medal, 2 Bronze Star Medals with Oak Leaf Clusters, and 2 Purple Hearts. He is survived by three sons, Wayne Mason of Steelton, PA, Robert Mason of Cranston and John Mason of Pawtucket; six grandchildren; two great grandsons; and two nieces. He was the brother of the late Gavin Mason. His funeral service will be held Monday, March 2 at 11 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. His burial, with military honors, at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 2-5 P.M. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 4:30 P.M. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Mason’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
