(05/01/15) JOHNSON, David M., 79, Sandalwood Court, Coventry, passed away Friday morning, May 1, 2015 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Nancy A. (Grenier) Johnson and the late Sonja K. (Johnson) Johnson. Born in Wauregan, CT, he was the son of the late Milton C. and Helene M. (Carpenter) Johnson. He lived in West Warwick and Coventry for most of his life. Mr. Johnson was an accountant with the U.S. Navy in Davisville for 36 years before retiring in 1991. He was a Vietnam War Air Force Veteran, a graduate of West Warwick High School, an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America Crompton Troop, a two term past commander of the Crompton Veterans Organization, member of the West Warwick American Legion Post 2, enjoyed golfing and was a New York Yankees fan. Besides his wife Nancy of 41 years, he leaves three children, Eric D. Johnson and Disa K. Johnson both of Coventry and Russell J. O’Reilly of Warwick; two grandchildren, Nicole and Christopher O’Reilly and a great grandson Christopher O’Reilly, Jr. His funeral will be held Monday, May 4, 2015 at 9 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick followed by a service at 10 am in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 9 New London Ave., West Warwick. Interment will follow with military honors in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6 pm.
