(07/02/15) Edna I. (Bliven) Morton, 89, of Victory Highway, West Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold T. Morton of West Greenwich. Mr. and Mrs. Morton were married for 59 years and enjoyed their home on White Brook Farm in West Greenwich. Born in North Kingstown, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony (Norris) Pucella of West Greenwich. Edna had one brother, the late Bernard Bliven, of Connecticut. Before retiring, Edna was Town Clerk for the Town of West Greenwich for almost twenty years. Edna enjoyed reading, puzzles, walks on the farm and was an avid Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune expert. She also enjoyed researching Genealogy, but above all of her hobbies, her favorite was spending time with her family. Edna was the mother of Steven H. Morton and his wife Dianne, Julie C. Dionne and her husband Gus, son-in-law David P. Andrews and her late daughter Diane Andrews, and her late son Harold T. Morton, Jr. and his late wife Rita Morton. Edna was Grandmother to David P. Andrews, Jr. and his wife Laureen, Daniel W. Andrews and his wife Lori, Heather R. Aguilar and her husband Martin, Derek J. Morton, Kyle A. Dionne, and Corrianne M. Dionne. She was Great Grandmother to Emily R. Andrews, Adam D. Andrews, Braydan W. Andrews, Collin T. Andrews, Shelby L. Andrews, Ethan M. Aguilar, Aiden T. Aguilar and Monica A. Aguilar. She was a Great-Great Grandmother to Amelia R. Andrews, all of whom were held close to her heart. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 6th, 2015 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI 02816. A funeral service will be performed by family friend, Father Bucco and will be held on Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Gorton Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, and will be followed by services at Plain Meeting House Cemetery, on the corner of Plain Meeting House Road and Liberty Hill Road, West Greenwich, RI 02817.
