(01/10/13) Pawtucket – Aline C. (Lavallee) Fortin, 93, formerly of Kelton St., passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Fortin. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose A. (Belanger) Lavallee, she was a lifelong resident of the Blackstone Valley. Aline was employed by the former Corning Glass Works, now Osram Sylvania for twelve years before retiring in 1981, and was a member of the Flint Glass Workers Union. She was previously employed by J & P Coats and the Carol Cable Company. Aline was a longtime communicant of the Church of St. Leo the Great. She leaves two sons, Robert J. Fortin and his wife, Gilberta of Pawtucket and Ronald A. Fortin and his wife, JoAnn of South Attleboro; a sister, Gilberta DeChristofaro in Florida; five grandchildren, Shaun Fortin, Kristen Fortin-Ashburne, Katie Fortin, Melissa Pinelli and Jennifer Fortin; five great-grandchildren, Emma Lisa Ashburne, Jacob Corey Ashburne, Justin Fortin, Dylan Pinelli and Layla Smith and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Eugene Lavallee, Paul Lavallee, Flora Baker, Loretta Smith, Germaine Hemond, Jeannette Elliott and Irene Howe. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the CHEETHAM FUNERAL HOME, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. VISITATION will be Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. CHEETHAMFUNERALHOME.com
