(06/18/14) Pawtucket – Camilla W. (White) Horton, 93, passed away at the Ballou Home on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Horton. Born in Tyner, NC, a daughter of the late Timothy and Bertha White, she resided in Pawtucket most of her life. Cam served as a 2nd Lieutenant Army Nurse during World War II. She was the Maternity Ward Supervisor at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket for almost 40 years and was also a Unit Supervisor at Miriam Hospital, Providence for 20 years. After her retirement, she worked at several local nursing homes. Cam was an active member of Park Place Congregational Church for over 70 years, and served on many committees. She leaves a son, Robert E. Horton, Jr. and his wife, Manuela of Woonsocket; a daughter, Candy C. Stewart of No. Providence; 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 11 a.m. in Park Place Congregational Church. Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. VISITATION will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Park Place Congregational Church, 71 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
