(02/28/15) North Smithfield – Ernest J. “Joe” Riquier, 93, of North Smithfield died Friday, February 27, 2015 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anita T. (Paquin) Riquier. Mr. and Mrs. Riquier were married 67 years this past September 6. Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Hogue) Riquier, he had lived in Woonsocket for most of his life before moving to North Smithfield 13 years ago. Mr. Riquier was a foreman in the Water Department for the City of Woonsocket for 10 years before retiring in 1984. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Woonsocket. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of St. Joseph’s Veterans Association, Woonsocket. Mr. Riquier was a member of the Rev. William J. Frehill Council #5702, Knights of Columbus, North Smithfield and a member of the General Stephen J. Moylan Assembly #1057, 4th Degree, Woonsocket. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Cecile L. Lacey and Jeanne A. Anderson, both of Cumberland; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rosalba LaPlante, Lillian Bourget and Cecile Beaufort. (02/28/15) GALLONIO, Sister Rose Maria, 97, formerly known as Sister Mary Valeria, a Sister of Mercy, teacher, and librarian, died on February 25, 2015 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Elizabeth (Spirito) Gallonio. Sister Rose entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1935 and professed final vows in 1941. In 1938, while continuing her studies, Sister began her teaching ministry at the former Immaculate Conception School in Providence. For the next forty years, Sister taught in parish elementary schools in Providence, Pawtucket, and Riverside. She then became librarian at St. Mary’s Academy, Bay View where she resided until moving to Franklin Court Assisted Living in Bristol, and later to Mount St. Rita. In addition to her membership in and commitment to the mission of the Sisters of Mercy, Sister Rose Maria will be remembered for her generous spirit and her enjoyment of creation. In addition to her religious community, Sister is survived by a niece, Sandra Actis of California, three nephews, Angelo, Andrew, and Jeffrey Gallonio, as well as six grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a sister of the late Anthony, Andrew, and Victoria Gallonio, and aunt of the late Janice Healy. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Mount St. Rita Health Centre Chapel, Cumberland. (03/01/15) Arthur A. Monteiro, 87, of Fall River, passed away, Saturday, February 28, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Arthur was the son of Joseph Monteiro and Patricia Almeida Monteiro both deceased and from the City of Fall River. Mr. Monteiro was a lifelong resident of Fall River and spent a large part of his life in the city assisting many residents obtain their citizenship. He retired from Boston Mutual Life Insurance as well as the owner of Columbia Real Estate, A. J. Verville and Maplewood Insurance, here in the city where he managed the Income Tax, Accounting as well as the Property and Life Insurance Business for over 40 years. He was well known and will be remembered for the help he provided many in the City. Arthur was an Avid golfer, holding memberships of the former Pocasset CC, Montaup CC as well as Fall River CC. He was well known not only for his joyful presence at the Club but also for his lifetime achievement of 6 “Hole in Ones” over the years. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud Veteran of WW2. Both of Arthur’s brothers were also servicemen in the U.S. Army, all three enlisting together the day after Pearl Harbor, and of the city. James, deceased, and Joseph, deceased and buried in Normandy, France. He also had two sisters, Elsie Pimental and Alice Thibault both deceased. Arthur is survived by his family, his wife Evelyn of Fall River as well as his children and grandchildren; Joyce Neilan, daughter, and her children Elyse Foster of RI and Jared Neilan of MA. Paul Monteiro, son, his wife Elizabeth and their children Wayne and Jennifer also of RI. Laurie Clark, daughter, her husband Michael and their children Katy and Olivia of MA. Mr. Austin was born March 21, 1955 in Warwick, RI. He was the son of the late Wilbur and Muriel (Briggs) Austin. He was the husband of Mary Lynn (Knapp) of West Greenwich, RI. He was employed by Kent County Water Authority for 39 years as Systems Chief. He will be remembered by being a playful grandfather with his grandsons; quick witted sense of humor and always ready and willing to help others. He was looked at as a hero and mentor to his wife and daughter and is going to be void in their lives that will be hard to fill. Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by a daughter: Rachel L. (03/02/15) Lincoln – Muriel E. Jordan, 94, passed away February 28 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by members of her loving family. Muriel Jordan was the beloved wife of the late Harmon P.B. Jordan, Jr., and daughter of Walter and Mildred (Irons) Wight of Providence. She had lived in Lincoln on Louisquisset Pike since 1939. Muriel invested much of her time working in the community and being a support for people in need. She was a long-time member of the Lime Rock Baptist Church and a volunteer with the Friends In Service Helping (FISH) organization. She also worked as a librarian at the Lincoln Community School for 15 years, and was a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader in addition to being her daughters’ “go to” person for countless school plays, music presentations and classroom projects. Muriel loved singing and theater and was a member of the Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus as well as the Valley Voices (now Encore). She also enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues at the former Lincoln Lanes. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her three daughters; Harriet Carroll, and husband John, of Weymouth, MA, Susan Jordan, and fiancé Neil Laird, of Lincoln, and Jenifer Hamilton and husband Seth of Lincoln; her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Vail Clemence of Bowie, MD; five grandchildren, James Martin, Jordan Hamilton, Reece Hamilton, Allison Stansfield and John Carroll; her uncle Thomas Irons of Warwick, and several nieces and nephews. (02/27/15) Frank Edward Norlin, III died February 15, 2015. He was born January 18,1951 at Newport Hospital. Known as Frank Ed and The Kiddd. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1970 and attended Rhode Island Junior College. At Rogers he excelled at sports playing basketball and football. He held many records for the pole vault and the javelin throw. He was a stellar performer in the City Softball leagues. Frank Ed was very popular and outgoing and loved by friends and teachers. He is survived by his two sisters Nancy Sullivan and her husband Bill and Susan Norlin and three nieces Susan, Stacy and Jenny Abraham and a grandnephew James William Van Loenen and many cousins. He was the son of the late Ruth and Frank Norlin and brother of the late Clifford Mitchell. Frank loved fishing along the Ocean Drive, Green Bridge and Castle Hill. He was an avid golfer and a member of Green Valley Country Club. He loved animals and had four cats. Frank was a house painter and artist. He was known for his style and neatness. He also leaves behind his two roommates Tim Gallagher and Jermaine Noka. He loved cards and had many friends in online poker. (03/04/15) Antonio V. Andrade, 65, of Providence St., West Warwick, passed away Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria F. (DaPonte) Andrade, they had been married for 40 years. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Estrela) Andrade. He resided in West Warwick since 1968. Mr. Andrade loved spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid cook and gardener and enjoyed playing cards. Besides his wife he leaves three children, Anthony V. Andrade, Stephanie M. Brown and Kevin Andrade all of West Warwick; two brothers, Jose Andrade and Manuel Andrade both of West Warwick; two sisters, Ana Lucianno of Hope and Lucia Ponte of Sao Miguel; two daughters-in-law, Mary Andrade and Ashley Andrade; a son-in-law, Thomas Brown ; six grandchildren and a great granddaughter. His funeral will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 7:45 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am in St. Anthony Church, Maple Ave., West Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm. (03/05/15) Providence – Scott C. DeBeck, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 2, 2015. Born in Attleboro on April 16, 1961, he was the son of Dorothy A. (Bobola) Robson and her husband, Ronald Robson of Seekonk and Clive C. DeBeck and his wife, Beverly DeBeck of Middleboro. Scott worked as welder and metal fabricator for Electric Boat, Quonset, Rhode Island for many years. He enjoyed learning about United States and World History and reading and researching astronomy. Besides his parents and step-parents, he leaves a son, Christopher C. DeBeck of Onset; a grandson, William DeBeck; a beloved aunt and two uncles, Barbara and Roger Tetreault of Rehoboth and Howard DeBeck. He also leaves many cousins. In keeping with Scott’s wishes, all services will be private. Flowers and visitation are respectfully omitted. (03/05/15) Annette I. (McPeake) Duclos, 91, a resident of The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, formerly of Attleboro, MA passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at The Residence. She was the wife of the late Clifford E. Duclos. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Leo F. and Eugenie (Bernard) McPeake. Mrs. Duclos served as secretary to Baroness Maria Von Trapp, as a lay missionary in the Fiji Islands and then as a Registered Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital and the Jeanne Jugan Residence. She was a graduate of C.C.R.I. and the R.I. Hospital School of Nursing. She was the beloved mother of Edward F. Duclos and his wife Nancy of South Attleboro, MA and Ann Marie Brassard of North Providence. Loving grandmother of Elizabeth, Daniel, Leslie and Christopher. Caring sister in law of Rita McPeake of California and the late Rita McPeake. Cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Eugene J. McPeake, Francis L. McPeake and Richard B. McPeake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 am in The Chapel of The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt.
