(06/23/14) MAGIERA, Mildred (Kusiak), 89, formerly of White Plains, New York, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Andrus Nursing Home, Hastings on Hudson, New York. She was the beloved wife of the late Victor J. Magiera. Born in Coventry, she was the daughter of the late John and Felicia (Szarek) Kusiak. She formerly resided on Montgomery Street in Warwick for 40 years and loved working in the children’s department at the former Jordan Marsh in Warwick before retiring to Naples, FL then New York. Mrs. Magiera was a caring, funny woman beloved by many, devoted to her family, and she spread happiness wherever she went. She leaves a daughter, JoAnn Magiera Month and her husband Stephan of Scarsdale, NY; two grandchildren, Zachary and Eliza Month and a brother, Raymond V. Kusiak of West Warwick. She was the mother of the late Marilyn Magiera and sister of the late Cecilia Ogrodnik Petrarca, Alice Rekas and Alfred J. Kusiak. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 9:00-10:30 am in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Washington St., Coventry. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St., Coventry, RI 02816 in her memory would be appreciated.
