Cecile M (Pontbriand) Dussault – Lincoln, RI

(04/22/15) Lincoln – Cecile M. (Pontbriand) Dussault, 88 of Bouvier Avenue, Manville died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at home embraced in the love of her entire family. She was the most beloved wife of the late Lucien O. Dussault with whom she had been married for 64 years. Born in Manville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Arsene and Elise (Vandal) Pontbriand, she had lived in Manville all her life and wintered in Yuma, Arizona. Mrs. Dussault was a full time homemaker while her children grew, and later, she was a Cook’s Helper for the State of Rhode Island Lunch program and retired in 1988. She was a devoted member of St. James Parish in Manville where she taught Religious Education, worked as the Cashier for the Parish Carnival, volunteered for the Annual Charity Fund Appeal, Parish Council and many committees over the years. Cecile loved to travel with her husband and one particularly precious memory for her was visiting the Holy Land. Mom was an outgoing and generous person for whom family was central. Her greatest lifelong passions were traveling, cooking, spending time with loved ones – especially playing cards each evening – embroidering and reading. She was a woman of deep faith and devotion, and prayed daily. Cecile is survived by her four children: two daughters, Carmen Dussault and her husband Donald Evernden of Rimbey, Alberta, and Louise Dussault of Manville; two sons, Roger Dussault and his wife, Donna of Las Vegas, NV and Paul Dussault and his wife, Rosalinda of Reno, NV; one sister, Suzanne Pontbriand, who lived in the same building with her for over fifty years; three brothers, Lucien Pontbriand and his wife, Joan, Leo Pontbriand and his wife, Pauline, and Richard Pontbriand and his wife, Jacqueline; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Pontbriand; one brother-in-law, Edward Agena; dear family friend, Fernande Dery of Manville; three grandchildren, Irene, Christian and David; two step-grandchildren, Misty and Jimmy; four great grandchildren, Katherine, Amber, Hunter and Gage; one great great granddaughter, Brooklyn; two godchildren, Renee and Debbie; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sr. Doris Pontbriand, SSA and Jean Pontbriand, and the sister-in-law of the late Cecile Agena. Her funeral will be held Saturday, April 25 at 8:30 A.M. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. (04/14/15) Lincoln – Evan Robertson Miller, 23, of Lincoln died peacefully Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved son of Stephen M. and Lori (Robertson) Miller of Lincoln. He was the loving brother of Kristen E. Miller of Las Vegas, NV; and the beloved grandson of Rosemarie Robertson of North Providence and Helen Miller of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Edward Robertson and William P. Miller. Evan was a 2010 graduate of Lincoln High School where he was a member of the Swim Team for 4 years and was co-captain in his senior year. He also played volleyball for 4 years and was a member of the Lincoln High School Band for 4 years. After his graduation, he was the team manager of the Boys Volleyball Team and was the assistant coach of the Unified Basketball Team, both at Lincoln High School. He was attending CCRI. A Special Olympian, he was selected to represent Rhode Island three times at the National Special Olympic Games, where he won 3 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals, all in swimming. In 2010, he was named the Rhode Island Special Olympics Athlete of the Year. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 18 at 11 A.M. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. (04/24/15) DeAnna S. Bates, formerly of Bradford, born May 25, 1993, passed away unexpectedly on April 18th 2015. DeAnna was a beautiful, intelligent young woman with the ability to accomplish anything. She was graduating URI this year with her degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She graduated from Chariho Regional High School in 2011, and spent three years in the cosmetology program. She was a member of the Chariho Southern Baptist Church where she was thought of as everyone\’s friend and child. She worked at URI and Wakefield Liquors while being a full time college student. She loved spending time with her friends and family, the Narragansett Wall, and all of our local beaches. She leaves behind her mother/legal guardian, Sherry “Emmerich” Hall, her step-father Robert Emmerich, her brother, Jonathan Hagerman, her beloved cousins, Dakotah and Joey, her Grampy and her best friend Brittney. She will be remembered by her biological parents, brothers and sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and many extended family. DeAnna was predeceased by her grandmother, Marjorie J. An educator, she held a Masters Degree and taught throughout the United States for forty years. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Ovila and Marie Louise (Proulx) Bellenoit. She is survived by a sister, Louise Boutin of Fall River and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Bellenoit and Jeannette Weeden, Lorraine Levesque, Sister Louis Joseph Bellenoit, SSJ, and Maurice \”Mike\” Bellenoit. (Cameron) Entwistle. After 35 years, Sandra retired from the State of Rhode Island (DHS) as Senior Telephone Operator in 2004. She was a devoted and loving Grandmother, enjoyed hiking, the beach and the ocean. Sandra was an animal lover and loved hiking on the Audubon land. She is survived by one son: Michael P. Fennessey (Kristin) of East Greenwich; two sisters: Jill R. Bartaire (Pascal) of Jupiter, FL and Diane Benoit (Richard) of East Greenwich; four grandchildren: Gabrielle, Bridgette, Felicia And Ryan Fennessey. She is predeceased by her brother, Doug Entwistle. (04/28/15) Cumberland – George Hey, 103, formerly of Meadow Avenue, Cumberland died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Pawtucket Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Pawtucket. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Rawlinson) Hey. They were married for 57 years. A lifelong resident of Cumberland, he was a son of the late John and Lucinda (Cowdell) Hey. Mr. Hey was a self-employed carpenter and builder for many years. He also worked at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket and Brown University, Providence. Following his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively. He was a member of Christ Church, Lincoln, and during World War II, he served in the Merchant Marine. He is survived by three daughters, Roberta Schlusemeyer of North Palm Beach, FL, Brenda Lachance of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Diane Pearson of Warren; one son, Ralph Hey of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Kevin Schlusemeyer, and the brother of the late Rhoda Brady, Edna Winterbottom, and Edith Brennan, and the half-brother of the late John Hey. Born in Fort Fairfield, ME, a daughter of the late Norman and Dora (Grass) Mason, she had lived in Seekonk for the past 68 years. Mrs. Adams was employed in the admissions office at Butler Hospital, Providence for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Newman Congregational Church, Rumford and a former member of Wannamoisett Country Club and the Rumford Junior Women’s Club, both of Rumford. (04/28/15) PATERSON, Jeannette L. (Duseault), formerly of West Greenwich, passed away Monday, Apr. 27, 2015 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry. She was the wife of the late Norman Paterson, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Florida (Ladouceur) Duseault. She resided in West Greenwich for over forty years. Mrs. Paterson was head cafeteria cook at Metcalf Middle School in West Greenwich for thirty years before retiring. She enjoyed playing bingo was a member of the West Greenwich Happy Seniors and Golden Agers. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne L. Emmons and her husband Donald of Warwick and Michelle D. Fluette of West Warwick; three grandchildren, Jared Emmons, Devon and Danielle Fluette and three great grandchildren, Robert, Kloe and Rylee. She was the sister of the late Norman Duseault. Her funeral will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at 9 am from the HENAULT – GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. She was a former employee of Bristol Knitting Mills, Lamport Manufacturing, Rustler’s Steak House and Swarovski Jewelry, Cranston, RI and a cat lover. She leaves a son, Richard A. Lagasse and his wife Michelle Letendre-Lagasse of Fall River; grandsons, Jordan Lagasse and Aaron Letendre; siblings, Donald Berube and Rita Gavaren, both of Tennessee, Pauline Vain of New Hampshire and Germaine Linton of Exeter, Rhode Island.
