John was a trailer truck driver for American Insulated Wire, Pawtucket for forty-six years before retiring in 1994. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Michael and Donald Amaral both of Rehoboth; two daughters, Susan Vachon of Pawtucket and Deborah Robinson of Boynton Beach, FL; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. (10/20/14) Henry John McClarence was born July 17, 1951 to the late Harry J. and Mildred B. (Jenkins) McClarence in Peoria, Illinois. He died peacefully in his sleep at St. Elizabeth Home, East Greenwich, Rhode Island. He is survived by his sister, Victoria McClarence Murray and brother-in-law, Wallace J. Murray, Jr., of Warwick, Rhode Island. He attended St. Mary’s School for Special Children in St. Louis, Mo., and the Holiday and Wilson schools in Pekin, Illinois. The family retired from Pekin to Venice, Florida in the early 80’s. He lived with his parents at Valencia Residences on the Gulf until the time of their deaths. Mr. McClarence enrolled as a full-time student at Loveland Center in 1994 and became a resident in the Loveland Group Home in l995. He spent vacations and holidays with the Murrays at their home on Love Lane. Henry had many friends. He had an infectious smile and a good sense of humor. He prided himself on being a “gentleman” in all situations and his positive, friendly; manner made him a joy to be with. Mr. McClarence is remembered for his performances in the Loveland Follies at the Venice Little Theatre. He had standout “starring roles” and established himself as an accomplished comedian. He was a Special Olympics athlete and volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Children First. Mr. McClarence will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. He received and gave love all of his life. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael J. McClarence. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, October 25, at 10:00am, St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Warwick, Rhode Island. An Army Staff Sergeant veteran of WW II, he owned and operated the former Tony’s Variety Store, County St., in the 1950’s and was employed by New England Telephone Co. for 22 years. He was past-president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Holy Name Society member of Notre Dame Parish, and a Charlton Memorial Hospital volunteer. He was the father of Jeannine Lapriore of Westport, Phyllis Francoeur of Fall River, Elaine Coulombe of Somerset and the late Maureen Boulanger (husband Robert of Somerset); the grandfather of Steven Lapriore (Claudine), Christine Oliveira (Paul), Jeffrey Francoeur (Karen), Jason Francoeur (Jennifer) Robert Boulanger, Lori Noble (Douglas), David Boulanger, Lisa Boulanger, Owen Coulombe and Nina Coulombe; the great-grandfather of Seth and Paige Lapriore, Sydney and Lindsey Oliveira, Anthony Joseph, Abigail, Brayden and Riley Francoeur and Sabrina and Benjamin Noble. She devoted her adult life to the nursing profession, working at the Rhode Island Institute of Mental Health and Fatima Hospital and ultimately serving as a Nurse Manager for many years at the Veterans Administration Hospital. We will remember Sandy for her boundless energy, her sharp wit and sense of humor, and her devotion to her family and friends. She loved to travel and to seek out new adventures, the crazier the better. (10/25/14) Louis Roberti, 89, of Warwick passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Teresa (Capaldo) Roberti for 64 years. Roberti and his wife Susan of East Providence and Stephen J. Roberti of Warwick. Cherished grandfather of the late Brendan Roberti. Caring brother of Mary Serbo of Johnston and the late Amelia Gesualdo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. (10/25/14) DUBUC, Melina O. (Ouellette), 101, formerly of Flynn Terrace, West Warwick, widow of Gaston A. Dubuc and mother of Dr. B. Doris Dubuc, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2014 in Detroit, Michigan where she lived with her daughter. Born in Manchaug, MA to the late Willie and Exilie (Malhoit) Ouellette, she resided in West Warwick most of her life where she had been a member of The Ladies of St. Ann at St. John the Baptist Church and St. Benedict \’s Circle #423 Daughters of Isabella for over 50 years Mrs. Dubuc was the last of her generation. Besides her daughter, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Old St. Mary\’s Catholic Church, Detroit, MI. Dorothy E (Tanner) Saunders – Westerly, RI
(10/26/14) Dorothy E. (Tanner) Saunders, 84, of Sparrow Drive, Westerly, was called home peacefully by Our Savior Jesus on Friday morning, October 24, 2014 at the Westerly Health Center. She was predeceased by her son, Clifford R. Saunders of Stafford Springs, CT. She leaves behind her three loving daughters and their husbands, Elizabeth and Donald Coyne of Amston Lake, CT; Joan and Allyn Soucier of Canterbury, CT and Kathleen and John Smith of Westerly, RI and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her closest and dearest, lifelong friend, Joan Saunders of Little Compton, RI and a brother-in-law Philip Price of Florida. Dorothy was born in Cranston, RI on October 16, 1930, one of four daughters of Clifford W. and Catherine (Raftery) Tanner. She was one of their four daughters and predeceased by Helen Clutter, Mary Coville and Margaret Price. She was a communicant of Saint Clare Church, Westerly, RI. Dottie was silly and fun while enjoying life with her family and friends. She loved the beach, and ocean and travel. She was symbolic and understood symbols at a deep level. God graced Dorothy with the spiritual Gift of Helps (Corinthians I 12:28). She helped so many people in her lifetime and she did this with prayer, love and guidance. She was a teacher of the power or prayer, high morals and values and she spread the Word of God in her teachings. Professionally, Dorothy was the Director of the Norwich, CT Diocesan Office of Family Life. Prior to this position, she served as Director of the Ministry for Divorced, Separated and Remarried Catholics. She was a member of the Diocesan Marriage Board and Family Perspective Team, the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers and the Northern American Conference for Separated, Divorced Catholics. She was a mediator for the Center for Dispute Resolution Services, serving on a team in divorce mediation. She facilitated “New Life, New Love,” a remarriage preparation program. She planned and presented numerous programs and workshops for separated and divorced adults in Eastern Connecticut. She completed clinical pastoral education at Hartford Hospital. She was a Commissioned Lay Minister of the Norwich Diocese. She studied at Holy Apostles College, Cromwell, CT and Eastern Connecticut State University. She was a leader of a support group for separated and divorced Catholics and coordinator of Religious Education at St. Bernard Parish, Rockville, CT. Please join us for a celebration of Dorothy’s life at a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Saint Clare, 62 Crandall Avenue, Misquamicut, RI 02891.
