(03/28/15) Seekonk, MA – Nancy (Stone) Wolfe, 90, of Seekonk passed into eternal rest Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon W. Wolfe. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late D. Earle and Eleanor (Miller) Stone, she was a lifelong resident of Seekonk and a longtime summer resident of Nantucket. She graduated from Pawtucket East Senior High School in 1942 and for many years, she was a member of the Reunion Committee. She attended MA State College before entering Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Program and graduated in 1946. At her death, she was the oldest alumna of Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing. She received her Baccalaureate Degree from RI College in 1972. Mrs. Wolfe was a School Nurse at Seekonk Intermediate and Senior High Schools for 22 years before retiring in 1987. She had served as Past President of the MA School Nurse Organization and as former State Director in the National Association of School Nurses. Previously, she had worked at Providence Lying-In Hospital, as office nurse for Dr. Walter S. Jones and Dr. Kalei Gregory, and as clinic nurse at RI Hospital Personnel Clinic. A longtime member of Newman Congregational Church in Rumford, Nancy was an active historical and genealogical consultant for the Church and as Church Historian found that many of her ancestors were first proprietors in the Town of Rehoboth. She was a member of the RI Society of Mayflower Descendants, the RI Genealogical Society, the DAR, and a member of the Historical Societies in East Providence, Nantucket, Old Colony in Taunton, and Rehoboth Antiquarian Society. She was also a member of the St. Andrews Society of RI, Clan Gunn Society of North America, and the Seekonk Historical Commission. She is survived by her loving children, Wendy Wolfe Cardarelli and her husband, William; and Bonnie Wolfe Collins and her husband, Joseph, all of Rehoboth, MA; and her adored grandchildren, Heather and Blake Collins; Kimberly Cardarelli and her son, Colby; and Jennifer Koziol and her husband Jamie. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Gildersleeve of Topsham, ME; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Janet Whitfield and R. Bradford Stone. Rhodes, Sr. A lifelong resident of Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth (Gill) Simskie. Mrs. Rhodes was a clerk in the Board of Canvassers for the Town of Cumberland for 10 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of Christ Church, Lincoln and its Mr. and Mrs. Club. She was also a member of the AARP and the Friendly Quilters Club. She is survived by one son, William F. (03/27/15) Sister Patricia Anne Farley, (known in religion as Sister Mary John Vianney), 80, of Providence, a member of the Sisters of Mercy since 1951 died Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Providence. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Mary (Gallagher) Farley. In the 1950\’s and 1960\’s, Sister Patricia was active in the teaching ministry at St. Mary Academy, Bay View, St. Anthony School, W. Warwick, St. Mary\’s School, Pawtucket, and Holy Family High School, New Bedford. From 1966 to 1968 she was the elementary principal at St. Mary\’s School, No. Attleboro. She later served on the Leadership Team of the Sisters of Mercy in Cumberland from 1976 to 1979. Sister Patricia began a broad-based Religious Education program for children, youth and adults at St. Catherine Parish in Warwick in 1969 and served as its director for 17 years. She also developed and coordinated a peer-education program of drug prevention for middle-grade students at the parish. In 1986, she joined the Providence Family Learning Center as a home tutor for disadvantaged young parents. From 1988 to 1994 she also piloted a literacy program for adults with developmental disabilities in conjunction with the Adult Academy of RI. In 1992 and 1994 she received awards from Blackstone Valley Center and Trudeau Center respectively, for her contributions to the independence of their students. In 1995 she was honored by Brown University\’s Swearer Center with its Community Partnership and Leadership Award. Since 1993, Sister Patricia has ministered at ReFocus as the Human Resources Manager and Staff Trainer. She has served on its Administrative Team since 1998. ReFocus is a non-profit agency providing support and services to persons with developmental disabilities. In 2014, Sister Pat was honored by ReFocus Inc. with its Lifetime Outstanding Leadership Award. In addition to her religious community, Sister Patricia is survived by a sister-in-law, Jane Farley, a niece, Jane Farley Pontes, three nephews, Robert, John and Richard Farley and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was the sister of the late Sister Kathleen Farley, Rev. John F. Farley and Robert V. Farley. (04/01/15) Beverly Ann (Reardon) Souls, of Warwick, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at home. She was the beloved wife of Donald D. Souls. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William Reardon. Beverly was employed as a medical clerk at the Metropolitan Health Insurance Division of Metropolitan Life until her retirement. A deeply religious woman, Beverly was devoted to her faith, family and many close friends whom she loved dearly. She will be remembered for her kindness and compassion to others and was renouned for her capacity to help those in need. In addition to her beloved husband, Beverly is survived by her devoted children: Steven Souls and his wife Lisa of Manchester, VT, Michelle Morrison and her husband James of West Warwick and Donna Donnelly and her husband Charles of Westerly; seven grandchildren: Matthew and his wife Lisa Morrison, James and his wife Kristi Morrison, Kevin and Stephanie Souls and Chas, Mackenzie and Drew Donnelly; and four great-grandchildren: Blake, Brielle, Landen and Keegan Morrison. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 8:45 AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 PM to 8 PM. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. (03/31/15) TEDESCHI, Dominica G. “Jenny” (Zienowicz), 99, of St. George St., West Warwick, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph Tedeschi. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Felicia H. (Kacofka) Zienowicz. She was a resident of West Warwick since 1952. Mrs. Tedeschi was a hollow grinder at Imperial Knife Company for 15 years before retiring in 1978. She is survived by a son, Robert J. Tedeschi of West Warwick; three sisters, Melvina Zienowicz and Irene Salzillo both of Johnston and Phyllis Mendozzi of Scituate; a brother, Frederick Zienowicz of Warwick; two grandsons, Robert S. Tedeschi of Warwick and Michael C. Tedeschi of Coventry; five great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Monia Konerko, Ann Katkowski, Eleanor Danko, Francis “Steve”, Julian, Mitchell, Stanley and John Zienowicz. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a service at 11:00 am. (03/31/15) Barbara J. (Moll) Thomas, 71, of Tum-a-Lum Circle, Westerly, passed away in her home while surrounded by her loving family on Monday morning, March 30, 2015. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband, John B. Thomas of Westerly, her mother, Asta Moll of St. James, NY, her sister Nancy Reuter and husband Robert of Lake Grove, NY, her daughter, Kimberly J. Kerst, and husband Michael of Mystic, CT, her son, John A. Thomas, and wife Barbara of Massapequa, NY, her son, Stephen J. Thomas, and wife Linda of East Lyme, CT, and eight grandchildren: Kelly, Matthew, and Andrew Kerst, Nicholas, Vincent, and Christian Thomas, and Scott and Kevin Thomas. Barbara was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 28, 1943, the daughter of Asta Moll and the late Lief Moll of St. James, NY. She was a graduate of the Methodist School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY and worked as a labor and delivery nurse. Barbara ended her career at the Lutheran Center for the Aging. She actively participated in many different types of communities, including the Grace Fellowship Church in North Stonington, Connecticut, the Rhode Island Winnebago Club, and the Deer Creek Regal Ridge Golf Community in Florida. Barbara was a very talented person who loved to sew, knit, and crochet. She would then give her beautiful creations to family and friends. Barbara touched the lives of so many people, and will be missed by all. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Barbara Thomas will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Grace Fellowship Church, 102 Providence-New London Turnpike (Route 184), North Stonington, CT 06359.
